It all began with our grandfather, who started out hauling hay. Through his determination and perseverance, he laid the foundation for our family's enduring connection to the trucking world.
Following in our grandfather's footsteps, our dad took over the hay hauling business and managed to put himself through college. His unwavering commitment to his craft and his relentless pursuit of success set the stage for the next chapter in our family's trucking legacy. With a wealth of experience under his belt, our dad founded Bettencourt Transportation, a thriving enterprise that owned and managed a fleet of over 30 trucks and employed more than 100 owner operators for over two decades.
When the time came to pursue new endeavors, our father embarked on a new venture called Kustom Truck. This innovative business specialized in building Glider Kit Semi trucks and ultimately developed our own line of Kustom Truck Products. The dedication, expertise, and ingenuity that went into this venture were a testament to our family's deep-rooted passion for the trucking industry.
Growing up in a trucking family, we were fortunate to witness firsthand the daily rituals and challenges that come with this unique profession. Whether it was waking up early to see our dad or grandfather heading out the door to haul a load of hay or sitting in on drivers' meetings at 6 am on a Monday morning when we owned the trucking fleet, the trucking industry became an integral part of our lives.
As we got older, our involvement in the family business expanded. We found ourselves working in the company shop, servicing and maintaining the fleet of trucks. The hands-on experience allowed us to truly appreciate the intricacies and demands of the trucking industry. We learned the value of hard work, the importance of attention to detail, and the satisfaction that comes from contributing to the smooth operation of a fleet.
Today, as we gather our group of talented engineers to present new product ideas, we are reminded of the constant staple in every memory: a fresh, bold cup of coffee.
